David Sammut, the President, has been in the motorhome rental business for 40 years. He brings the expertise of his experience to ensure that you and your family will have the vacation of a lifetime. He has significant international experience having marketed to European tour operators for 14 years. He has been a member of the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership European Committee for six years. In this volunteer position he had provided direction for marketing the province of Ontario to their primary markets in Europe and chaired the European sales missions. Big Sky RV Rental Canada Rental TermsImportant information about your rental
On arrival, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Big Sky RV Rental Canada. Here is a summary of the terms and conditions:
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Big Sky RV Rental Canada
- The Supplier means the operator of Big Sky RV Rental Canada.
- The Client is also referred to as the hirer (s), renter(s) or customer (s)
A non-refundable deposit will be taken from your nominated credit card at the time of booking confirmation. This amount will vary depending on the number of days your booking is placed before travel commencement. The balance payment due will be deducted from your nominated credit card 35 days prior to the commencement of your rental. Please ensure there are sufficient funds available on your card for the balance to be collected at least 35 days prior to your rental commencing.
If you are booking within 35 days of travel the entire cost of the rental will be transacted from your nominated credit card at the time of booking confirmation.
Note on foreign currency bookings: full balance of payment (including the deposit) will be collected at the time of confirmation if you have elected to process your booking in a currency different to CAD$. Some charges may be payable directly to your rental station upon arrival, these will be itemised as such in your breakdown of pricing if and where applicable.
The Supplier reserves the right to cancel any reservation if payment has not been received. (Please also note that the 1.5% credit card surcharge will be added when this payment is processed).
Cancellation / Modification Policy
The initial deposit is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges apply: 48 days or more prior to departure date: No further charge
47 to 33 days prior to departure date: $250.00
32 to 18 days prior to departure date: 60% of total rental charges
17 to 7 days prior to departure date: 80% of total rental charges
6 days or less prior to departure date: 100% of total rental charges
Customers who fail to arrive on departure day or decline the vehicle at departure for whatever reason are considered as a departure day cancellation.
Changes and Modifications
Changes and modifications of reservations are subject to a $25.00 handling charge.
The Supplier strongly recommends that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance. In many cases, this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
Please note that during the winter season (usually from 01 October but possibly earlier), the vehicles will most likely be winterized, depending on weather conditions. This means that all water will be drained from the vehicle and replaced with anti-freeze liquid. This means that there will be no access to the sink, toilet or shower.
Approved Payment Methods
Cash and Traveler's cheque, Visa, Master / Eurocard, American Express and Bank wire transfer* are the methods of payment accepted by supplier.
Overseas customers must overnight before picking up their rental unit.
Afternoon pick-up is provided between 13:00 and 16:00 hrs.
No refund is made in the event of a late pick-up.
Drop-off and Drop-off Transfers
Drop-off hours last from 09:00 to 11:00 hrs. Drop-off transfer is provided from the rental location to the airport or airport area hotels. Minimum 7-day rental.
Drop-off late surcharges are $80.00 per hour. No drop-off transfer is provided in the event of a late drop-off. No refunds are made for early returns or unused portions of rentals.
Public Liability Insurance
Liability insurance coverage is maintained on all rental vehicles to a maximum of $1,000,000.00 for any bodily injury and property damage liability claim brought by a third party (other than a passenger) against the customer (and any other driver listed on the rental contract) as a result of the operation or use of their rental vehicle. This basic public liability coverage is included in all rental rates. All coverage and waivers are subject to the express terms of the rental contract.
Customer Responsibility with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
All daily rental rates for all vehicles include CDW coverage. With the CDW coverage, the customer's responsibility for accidental damage, theft and vandalism (police report is required) to the vehicle is reduced to $2,500.00 per occurrence with the following exceptions, for which there is no reduction in the customer’s responsibility for damages. Client responsibility increases ro $3,500 for the MHLUX
1) Caused as a result of use without the supplier's expressed permission or consent.
2) Damage caused by striking overhead objects or from backing up the vehicle.
3) Interior damage.
4) Undercarriage damage, including tires and wheels.
5) Damage caused by freezing or overheating vehicle systems.
6) All glass damage.
7) All damages caused during any use of off public roads (including campgrounds, parking lots and service stations, etc.)
Security Deposit with CDW Coverage is $3,500.00 for the MHLUX.
Extended Liability and Vacation Interruption Protection (E.L.V.I.P.)
Extended liability and vacation interruption protection (E.L.V.I.P.) is available with a set maximum per rental. Please refer to the price list for E.L.V.I.P. rates. E.L.V.I.P. provides the following benefits:
1) With E.L.V.I.P. the customer's Responsibility for accidental damage is further reduced to $300.00. In case of theft and vandalism to the vehicle, the deductible is $1,000.00. This reduction of the customer's Responsibility does however not apply to the exceptions mentioned above, for which the customer’s responsibility reduces from unlimited to $2,500.00 ($3,500 for MHLUX).
2) E.L.V.I.P. also covers the expenses in the event of a mechanical breakdown requiring the vehicle to be in repair for more than 12 working hours. The radio, TV/VCR, air conditioning, refrigeration, generator, microwave, appliances, automatic step, cruise control and GPS malfunctions are not considered to be mechanical break downs. Incurred expenses of $30.00 per person per day for lodging and $30.00 per group per day for other transportation is provided. A limit of $3000.00 per rental applies and this plan is not valid in case of an accident. Customer must present all receipts for refund of expenses.
3) In the event of an incident, the renter must obtain a police report by an officer who attended the scene.
E.L.V.I.P. coverage is void:
1) If the customer fails to file an accident/damage police report.
2) If the vehicle is used in violation of the terms of the rental contract.
Security Deposit with E.L.V.I.P. Coverage is $3,500.00 for the MHLUX.
Convenience Kits Standard Kit (included in all rentals): Water Hose, KOA Discount Card, Waste Basket with Broom, Sewer Hose, 110 Volt Adapter, Fire Extinguisher, and Operator's Manual.
Convenience Kit (per vehicle): Set of Pots, Cutting Board, Dish Cloth, Frying Pan, Kettle, Serving Spoons, Mixing Bowl, Juice Container, Clothes Hangers, Cork Screw, Can/Bottle Opener2 and Tea Towels
Convenience Kit (per person): Hand Towel, Blanket, Cereal Bowl, Bath Towel, Pillow &Pillow cases, Cup, Dinner Plate, Set of Sheets, Drinking Glass, Face Cloth, Knife/Fork/ Spoon and Bread plate. ** Note: All tableware (Plates etc.) is non-plastic and is made of Corning/Corelle china or equivalent. Convenience kits are paid per person with a maximum charge of 3 convenience kits per vehicle per rental. Preparation Fee
This is a mandatory one-time charge per vehicle per booking and is applicable to all bookings without exception.
The Preparation Fee covers:
1) The standard kit per vehicle.
2) Toilet chemical.
3) Vehicle exterior cleaning.
4) Pick-up and Drop-off transfers. Minimum 7-day rental.
There are no refunds for unused propane and toilet chemicals and there are no refunds if the customers do not meet the transfer rules and did not receive transfer or if the customer decides to do their own transfer at their own cost.
Mountain Bike and Bike Rack Rentals
The Supplier offers one size of adult mountain bikes for rent. The Supplier offers a 2 or 4 bike rack with 2 or 4 mountain bikes per carrier. If a customer wants to bring their own bike, bike racks only can be rented. The price for the bike rack only is $25.00 per rental.
** Note: Please Request Rental Bikes and Racks at the Time of Booking.

Maintenance and Cleaning Responsibility
The customer is responsible for checking all fluids at each refuelling. Refills of all fluids (except gasoline) will be reimbursed at check-in upon presentation of receipts. The vehicle must be returned clean inside, otherwise cleaning charges may apply.
Repairs / Refunds/ Early Returns
Necessary repairs are refunded without previous authorization up to $50.00. The customer must provide receipts. If the customer paid for repairs in excess of $50.00 without previous authorization the supplier will not give a refund. The customer assumes full Responsibility for any additional expenses incurred by reason of a vehicle breakdown. If the vehicle is in breakdown repair for more than 12 working hours through no fault of the customer, the supplier's Responsibility to the customer is limited to a refund of the daily rate portion thereof (except with E.L.V.I.P. coverage). Radio, TV/VCR, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, any appliances, plumbing, generator, cruise control and GPS malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and no refunds are made for repair time to these items.
Note: There will be no refunds for early return of a rental vehicle.
In a case of an accident, the customer must notify the police for a police report immediately, they must notify the supplier within 24 hours and make a full report in writing. CDW/E.L.V.I.P. accident coverage is void if the customer fails to follow this procedure.
Credit Cards / Traveler’s Cheque
The supplier accepts Master/Eurocard, Visa, American Express credit cards as well as all CDN/USD Traveler's Cheques. The supplier is not responsible for the exchange rate fluctuations of any credit card transaction.
Driver’s License / Driver’s Age
The customer must be in possession of a current and valid driver's license. The minimum age to drive the motorhome is 25 years old.
Parking / Traffic Violations / Toll Roads
The customer is responsible for reporting and payment of all parking, traffic and toll road violations and charges at rental termination. Non-reporting of parking, traffic and toll road violations and charges will result in an administrative charge of up to $100.00. Non-reported parking and traffic violations plus administrative charges will be charged against the customer’s credit card or will be collected at the customer's domicile.
Driving is not permitted:
1) In Mexico.
2) On Logging roads, non public roads or Off Road.
All rental vehicles travelling to Alaska, the North West Territories and the Yukon Territories are permitted and must be confirmed in advance.
The supplier is entitled to upgrade the customer to a higher rated vehicle at no extra cost. Should a lower rated vehicle be offered, The supplier's Responsibility is limited to the refund of the difference in gross rates.
A 3-day minimum applies to all rentals from October thru May and a 7-day minimum applies from June Thru September. A 14-day minimum is required for unlimited kilometers.
Pet friendly vehicles available upon request.
Towing is not permitted.
The storage of items on the roof is not permitted. Free storage of luggage is available at the owner's risk.

The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. If you encounter issues with the vehicle whilst on hire, you MUST report these issues directly to the relevant supplier at the earliest possible time. This will allow the supplier to remedy any issues and minimise any inconvenience to you. If you fail to report any vehicle issues during your rental, it is likely that compensation will not be offered. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.95% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency): 25.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
